B-25 Simulator
“This had never been done, not off a carrier, but with training it could be done.” - Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle
With the help of the team at the National Aviation Museum of World War II, I am currently developing a historically accurate recreation of the Doolittle Raid of 1942. For this project, I created the following systems:
C++ middle-ware for interfacing with the JSBSim FDM
C++ Event System for live input handling from 35 physical axes measured with potentiometers and Arduino boards
15+ Skeletal Mesh based animations
Modeled physics calculations:
Calculated the necessary torques for starting engines
Calculated proper propeller RPM for animating the angular velocity and pitch of propeller blades
